HighLab
The quality lab
For over ten years, High Lab has been based on the activities of "outdoor" laboratories where Ferrino technicians work in close collaboration with professional users such as mountaineers, trekkers and excursionists.
1994. The Ferrino High–Lab (HL) project was established on Monte Rosa — at the Quintino Sella Refuge (altitude 3585 m). This is a permanent laboratory for testing new materials, new products, and prototype backpacks, tents, and sleeping bags.
Today. High–Lab has once again confirmed that it is the cream of Ferrino’s research, moving along a road that has been consolidated over time and which is characterised by the following operating criteria:
* Design
* HL test of materials
* Prototype production
* HL test (daily recording of the wear of materials subjected to UVA rays, changes in temperature and humidity, winds, freezing, and blizzards, thanks to data supplied several times over a 24–hour period from anemometers, hygrometers, and thermometers)
* Technical improvement
* Pilot production
* Field testing
* Definitive production
* Final HL test on products
HL SITES
In addition to the Permanent Laboratory on Monte Rosa, various parts of the world have served as theaters of High Lab testing:
Everest
Ferrino High Lab tests have been carried out at the Base Camp (5000 m) and the advanced Base Camp (6400 m).
Aconcagua
Operations have been carried out at Plaza de Mulas, at 4320 m.
Lagorai
Experiments on trekking products have been carried out along the most extensive mountain chain of Trentino Alto Adige.
