An interview with Technical Team

What is Alpine climbing for Edurne Pasaban?
We live in a society in which it is difficult to find happiness doing what we like doing; after a period of reflection and observing myself objectively, I now know that climbing is truly my life force.
The quality that people recognize in you?
I think I am a good friend, I try to help the people I love. I am stubborn and steadfast; perhaps this is why I climb mountains.
Your flaw?
My biggest flaw is a lack of patience. I like things that are fast and that happen immediately and I realize that this is a huge defect.
What do the following mean to you:
Adventure?
For me, life without adventure makes no sense.
Risk?
A useless thing. I believe that life is the most precious treasure a person has. If it is risky it is very complicated.
Passion?
Without passion you cannot accomplish anything or enjoy yourself. One day I would like to live everything with extraordinary passion.
Friendship?
In life friendship is a fundamental value; all this makes no sense without friendship. Good friends are forever, the ones who will always be there.
La forma fisica?
In our sport, keeping in shape is necessary, but also even a normal life is easier to live if you’re in good shape and practice sport.
Vacation?
Necessary and unavoidable.
Your favorite film?
"The Gladiator" by Ridley Scott.
Your favorite song?
I like all music, especially easy listening. Each of my expeditions is linked to a music or to a performer. I associate a song with each trip.
The historical figure that you admire most?
I admire all those who did some good for humanity.
The athlete you admire most?
I admire all athletes who do what they do with passion and for enjoyment.
f you hadn’t become Edurne Pasaban, what would you have done?
To tell the truth, it is very difficult to answer who you would be when you like who you are very much. I would certainly do something that involved human contact, I like working with people.
