SLEEPING BAGS

SLEEPING BAGS

How best to wash, use and store sleeping bags?

For sleeping bags with a synthetic filling:
If the sleeping bag has synthetic filling you can use a delicate cycle in the washing machine at 30° without using fabric softener.
It is advisable to put two or three tennis balls in the washing machine so that the filling will swell when dry as it did when it was originally made.

For sleeping bags with a feather filling:
For sleeping bags with a feather filling, the washing is much more delicate, particularly when drying as the sleeping bag needs to be shaken several times to avoid the feathers accumulating at the bottom. For this reason, it is preferable to take it to a dry cleaner.
When not in use, feather sleeping bags should be stored in a wardrobe, hung or folded like a duvet and not in a cover or compression bag.

Warning!
Both for sleeping bags with synthetic filling and those with feather, exaggerated washing damages the filling: for this reason it is recommended to use a cotton, silk or disposable bed sheet with the sleeping bag.
