About

About

“I am the twenty-first inhabitant of Cicogna, a village on the edge of the Val Grande National Park”. Listening to that, you imagine a silent hermit, someone that eats up paths and hates noise and chaos. Wrong. Alice is one of the most extrovert athletes at the start of trail running races. Wherever she is. Because the athlete from Lake Maggiore who enrolled for the 100 km Sahara race after a sudden idea in 2009, left with one thing in her heart: “my holidays will always be like this, running in the most beautiful places around the world”. And that is what she has done. From Australia to the Caribbean, Cape Verde, Vietnam, and the Marathon de Sables, there is not a single important race that she hasn’t been a part of.

“I want to enjoy the places I visit, without forgetting that I have a number pinned on my back that means I have to go as fast as I possibly can. But I believe that you can get good results even without being obsessed about your times”.

Alice does not set herself excessive rules or limits.  “I don’t eat meat because I don’t like it, but I love beer. I don’t have an eating plan. That's just how I am. If I want to listen to music, it can be anything from Fiorella Mannoia to Marlene Kunz, if I want to read a book, I can read a best seller or a history book about my valley”. Unpredictable, but with clear ideas. “I want to run the terrible Barkley Marathon in the States, so that I can be the first woman to finish it. I also want to do an Ironman, although first I have to get over my fear of swimming in open water”. At the end of the summer, you will find her at the start of the PTL in France, considered to be the hardest challenge in the Alps. Just so she doesn’t miss out.
