About

Born "in a backpack" in Annecy, he has been skiing since the age of two and before the age of ten he had already summited his first 4 thousand-metre peak. Mountains have always played a leading role in his life.

He was trained by his family and then by the local Mountaineering Club and the national FFME (French Climbing and Mountain Federation). Becoming a guide in 2009 was natural progression for Chris, who with the intention of seeking new routes, like new human relations, has always given his utmost to mountaineering.

In the Alps, together with Patrick Gabarrou, he was able to achieve dreams that he had thought were impossible: a winter opening in the north face of the Grandes Jorasses (6 days), the south wall of Mont Blanc, the pillar of Dérobé Freney .

At the same time, together with Aymeric Clouet, he discovered some of the most majestic rock walls in the world: Sphynx and "La Cruz del Sur in Perù", a winter ascent of the “Rimmon route" on the Troll Wall in Norway, " Chercheurs d'Absolu” and "Super Couloir” on Fitz Roy / Chalten in Patagonia, but also Tibet, Chile, Alaska, Tours sans Nom in Pakistan and many more.

Today, his quest is aimed at limiting his long-range journeys, making the very most of the Alps, thanks to journeys lasting several days.

Crossing Les Ecrins, Monte Rosa through to Cervino, the tour of the Chaine des Fiz, the Bonatti chain and also Chartreuse, with roaming and meetings being his main focus.

Sharing these adventures near and far, which have become his way of living over the years, is natural to him, and also multifaceted. His films have helped him bring his feats to the attention of the general public. "Le Méridien des Ecrins", "Sur le Fil de l'amitié", "La Voie Bonatti", "Verticale Boréale", "Inside".

Mission

My aim is to combine technical skills with the aesthetics of climbing, like the harmony and emotions that are shared within a celebration on the rope.
