THE ATHLETES WHO WILL TAKE PART IN THE ADAMELLO ULTRA TRAIL WEARING THE FERRINO WOMEN TEAM COLOURS HAVE BEEN CHOSEN.

There are 11 women who between the 22 and 24 September will run the Adamello Ultra Trail wearing the colours of the Ferrino Women Team.

Their names were given by Lisa Borzani, trail running champion and two-time winner of the Tor des Géants, at the end of the cycle of camps she organised and conducted to select the athletes.

These are therefore athletes who are prepared and ready for the challenge, both physically and mentally. But above all, they are eager to put themselves to the test by tackling one of the most demanding races on the national trail running circuit.

The selected athletes will compete on routes of 100 and 35 km, respectively with 6,050 and 2,200 metres of positive difference in altitude, designed along the paths of the Alta Val Camonica and Alta Val di Sole, on the border between Lombardy and Trentino. These are tough trails, which require training, good knowledge of the mountains and equipment that is both reliable and high-performance like the gear they will receive from Ferrino.

With this initiative, the Turin-based company consolidates its commitment in the world of women's nature running, following a path started in 2017 when the Ferrino Women Team was inaugurated. A team made up of high-level athletes but above all of women with normal stories: mothers, workers, students. Like the magnificent 11 selected by Lisa Borzani.

"The aim of the Ferrino Women Team has been from the outset to bring out the human side of trail running and of the women who choose to practice this very demanding activity, even with all the commitments of mothers and working women", underlines Anna Ferrino, CEO of Ferrino, who adds: "With this project, carried out in collaboration with Adamello Ultra Trail, for the first time we are giving women from a running school, selected by a professional, the opportunity to run a race as real athletes of the team, underlining Ferrino's aim of helping "normal" people to achieve great goals. The decision to collaborate with a great woman and athlete like Lisa Borzani is in continuity with this concept. We collaborate with her Trailored 4 You school with a view to helping athletes who are first and foremost women, who have a dream to fulfil that goes beyond their everyday lives. We want to accompany them, talk about them, run with them in their first real race."

"We enthusiastically undertook this initiative to promote female trail running," commented Paolo Gregorini of Adamello Ultra Trail, "with a historic partner for us like Ferrino. We can't wait to have these athletes in action on our trails: their qualities, combined with the technical support of a brand of this level and the experience of Lisa Borzani will undoubtedly allow us to uphold the name of the Ferrino Women Team and expand the horizons of Adamello Ultra Trail even further".
