FERRINO PARTECIPATE AT MILANO DESIGN WEEK 2018

On demand backpacks, designed and built live at the Ferrino Backpack Studio, in collaboration with Vibram

Ferrino, the historic Italian company in the outdoor sector, will participate at the Milano Design Week and will offer to the visitors the unique and unrepeatable possibility to assist and contribute to the design and construction of a backpack, produced and sold locally as a limited edition.

The Ferrino Backpack Studio, the space where it will be possible to join the initiative, will be set up from April 17 to 21 at the Vibram Connection Lab in via Voghera 11 in Milan. During the Milan Design Week, a Vibram POP UP STORE will be set up to host a real workshop where designers, model makers and prototypists of the Ferrino R&D team will be available for all those who want to have a personalized backpack, also responding to questions and curiosity of visitors.

At the Ferrino Backpack Studio will be built in real time limited edition backpacks that visitors can customize with the Ferrino team, every day of the event from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.

It will be possible to choose the colors of each component and section of the backpack, built for the event with an urban style, combining the Ferrino experience in creating technical backpacks and the Vibram know-how in producing materials with high performance to abrasion resistance and durability.

All backpacks, will have a 16 liters volume and will be complete with laptop pocket, internal organizer and document compartment. They will be manually sewn with Cotton Canvas Ferrino and Vibram Luxury Rubber.

Cotton Canvas - usually used for the production of emergency tents - is an evolution of the material that is at the origin of the Turin brand, whose founder, Cesare Ferrino, in 1870 invented a formula to waterproof the canvases.

The properties of extreme comfort, softness and impermeability of this material are flanked by Vibram Luxury Rubber inserts, which are very useful to cushion shocks, reinforce the parts most subject to abrasion and guarantee an ergonomic fit.

The upper closure with drawstring and buckle in satin aluminium and the front loop for bicycle light complete the backpack, making it perfect for anyone who wants to face the city with the unique style of the “Made in Italy” and the practical spirit of two leading companies in the production of technical gear destined to big and small adventures.
