ALEX TXIKON PROTAGONIST AT TRENTO FILM FESTIVAL
On April 30th, Ferrino ambassador Alex Txikon will be a guest of Trento Film Festival 2022 with the docufilm ANWAR. A story of mountaineering, solidarity and renewable energy at the foot of the highest mountains on Earth.
Alex Txikon, one of the great protagonists of the 2022 edition of Trento Film Festival, will be the first to climb Nanga Parbat during winter season. On April 30th, at 4.30pm, at Supercinema Vittoria, will be screen the documentary film ANWAR which, through images and narration, leads to the last winter season experienced by the Basque climber at the foot of Manaslu. Supported by Ferrino, Alex's goal was to succeed in climbing the mountain during winter, carrying out an ecological expedition. The result is a climb powered by solar panels, reducing the energy footprint. But there’s more, because once the expedition was completed Alex decided to give the used solar panels to the communities of that area, setting himself a new goal: bringing equipment to generate solar energy to a Pakistani village with whom he had a debt to repay. From the Himalayas to Sierra Leone and from Sierra Leone to Pakistan, ANWAR recounts the travels of a visionary mountaineer who wants to give back to the world some of the satisfactions that the world has given him.
The director of the movie, Rosa García Loire, talking about ANWAR states that it is “a story that makes us travel, that makes us think, that moves us. It’s a journey through intertwined paths, schools that join forces, friends who remain, cultural exchanges, people who decide to leave their homes because they think that something can change and that another world is possible.”
For the protagonist Alex Txikon, it is instead “a project born from good work that highlights the importance of humanitarian values. I am convinced that it will be able to make the viewer empathetic and will make him reflect about the difference of opportunities."
The appointment is for April 30th, at 4.30 pm, at Supercinema Vittoria in Trento, Italy.
